Honeymoon

Isn’t that sweet, we have our own blog. So this is our blog from our honeymoon to say that we are alive and not dead. We have been to Paris. It took a really long time to get there, and making ourselves adjust to the new time was not really fun at all. But we saw all the Parisy sights like the Eiffel Tower, Louve & Orsay Museums, Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame, the Seine River, and all that great stuff. We ate at the cafes and got laughed at by the french people. Mind you we didn’t remember to bring any sort of French phrase book nor maps nor guides. Mostly it was just us wandering around saying “what did Chica say we should do?” “Parlez vouz anglais? (please don’t cringe in horror at my French writing, I promise its better than my French speaking) And other than feeling sick about 50% of the time we managed to do a lot and have fun in a couple days time. Probably my favorite part was when we were at the Eiffel Tower and just about to walk off to have dinner and all of a sudden it started flashing all over. There are lights all over and from what I can figure from about dusk every hour or so it flashes its lights for 10 or so minutes? I don’t know, I didn’t really sit around and time it, that’s just from a couple observations. Aaron claims we are masters of the Paris Metro and Bus system, I think probably they just have pretty good maps that are easy to read. Anyway. I think Aaron said his favorite part was going to the Orsay Museum and seeing all the impressionist paintings in real life. It was pretty cool. Or maybe he just liked that they were closing and had an area blocked off but the woman wasn’t looking and we ducked under and ran through the exhibit really fast. Normally I don’t get dragged into things like that, but you can’t say the museum closes at 6 and try to throw everyone out at 530. Not cool.

So probably we did lots more things in Paris worth writing about, but I can’t remember because that was a few days ago.

Now we are in Santorini. We flew into Athens yesterday and took a (not very) high-speed ferry here this morning. I don’t think that 30 knots should be considered high speed, but I guess its all relative. They have a neat trick on the boat where more than half the boat is “business class” so if you happen to have a reservation for a hotel on Santorini and want to get there before dark you will open up your wallet and let them take your money away to sit in business class. Granted, it did have more leg room and the seats reclined farther, but being right next to the smoking area wasn’t the most enjoyable thing. Now we are hanging out at our ultimately fancy hotel. Somehow Aaron convinced me we needed to stay here because there is a pool in the room, and I do love to swim. He’s outside painting the view. I don’t know why I’m still in here, I’m going to stop writing now. I just had intention to say we are alive and well, but I got carried away. I’m going to spend 1.5 minutes seeing if I can put pictures on here, but if not, you can see them when I get home.

And if you really miss knowing what I look like, the photographer put some picutres of us on her website: www.donnellyimages.com click on the portfolio, then weddings, and you will find us scattered throughout there. Ok ok we are pictures 1, 2, 12, 14, 21, 22, 31, and the last one on the strip which is like 70 or something I lost track.

Maybe I will write again if it rains. Haha right.
