The Phone Won’t Stop

Thanks everyone for your calls and text messages wondering if I’ve had my baby. I have not. And if you send another I may explode. Not because I don’t love you, but because my baby still isn’t here. So here is my update after going to the midwife today, in case you were interested:

My blood pressure is good, the baby’s heartrate is good, the baby’s position is good, his head is moving on down. My next appointment is Tuesday, so if I make it until then I will get a stress test and check my amniotic fluid level. We are still just waiting around.

Additionally I promise to let you all know when the baby comes, so if you see nothing here, there is no baby. Thanks for all your kind thoughts, we’ll keep you posted, seriously.

PS My totally awesome best mom ever took me to get all my nails done today to relieve me from my extreme boredom. We got our toes painted black with ghosts and pumpkins on the big toes. They pretty much look the best ever. I would post a picture if my mom would upload them…

Day Zero

So, it’s only 830am, but I just wanted to let you all know that today is my midwife assigned due date, the one that has been on the countdown on here, and there are no babies yet. Not even one. Luckily I’m only expecting one, but you know. Last Sunday Aaron and I were sure that he was coming Monday or Tuesday. By Friday I spent most of the day in bed watching tv moping that my baby had not arrived. (He missed my day, 10-9-08, rude!) Now it is Sunday again and I am convinced he is never coming out. Just thought I should keep anyone still keeping track posted. And if your day has passed, just watned to say thanks for the happy thoughts, even though we were all wrong. I’ll let you know when this child comes out. I promise. The end.

Practical Joker?

So, today is my day in the baby due date game. I have accused my baby of being both rude and lazy, but it was pointed out by Esther that maybe he is just a practical joker. If that is true, then I will start labor around 8:30pm, and he will be out by 11:55pm tonight. Otherwise he’s lazy or rude. But I will still like him anyway. I will just be angry tonight that I didn’t win. And when Esther wants her baby to come out I will propose to her that maybe her baby is just a practical joker.

You Suck Real Bad

Dear Whoever Broke off the mirrors, snapped the windshield wipers, antenna, and broke the locks on Aaron’s black truck,

YOU SUCK REAL BAD. WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THAT????

Seriously.

Waiting for the police to arrive,
Kelsey

Blessing in Disguise.

Normally people say this about significant things, but I want you to know that this is significant to me. I was quite unhappy to find out that BYU had somehow obtained my good/non-spam email address, and thought it would be a good idea to send me alumni newsletters. For whatever reason (probably to figure out how to get off the list) I opened it and skimmed it. Lo and behold in the mess of useless information on Parent Weekend and photos of Cosmo (no offense Sherry, I know you love him) I found this treasure:

http://alumni.byu.edu/about/traditions/brownies.cfm

That’s right, the disgusting yet irresistible mint brownies. If my 13×9 didn’t currently hold some delicious triple chunk brownies, I would have made these already. There is always tomorrow. Anyway, thanks BYU Alumni Newsletter, I’m sorry I hated you. Oh wait, I still do, now about unsubscribing…

I Need Help.

So, as you may or may not know, I love Halloween times infinity. I love it so much I spend time thinking about how I can manage to have a Halloween party this year, nevermind that I am about to have a human child in approximately two weeks. (Ok, so the only thing stopping me is a suitably large location, otherwise there would be an early October Halloween party coming your way.) But that’s not really what I need help with. What I REALLY need help with, is what am I going to be for Halloween? I had several good ideas for costumes while pregnant, but am at a loss for immediately following pregnancy. So, you are all pretty smart, any good ideas?

Un-Nesting

I’m not sure if you can really un-nest, but if you can, I probably am. Although I am physically ready for the baby to come out (and seem to be mostly prepared around the house as well) there are a handful of things that I should/want to do but haven’t. And not because I haven’t had the time, just because perhaps I am avoiding them thinking if I don’t do them the baby won’t come yet? I know, that’s pretty silly. Also it’s 11:30 and Aaron is asleep and I am not because I thought a short blog on un-nesting was much more important. This is further proof I am losing my mind.

What Made Me Cry Today

A billboard. That’s right, not a sappy commercial even. A billboard.

It had a picture of a little girl and said something like: “Annie’s legs were smashed in a car accident and she couldn’t walk. Now she can’t wait to run out for recess.” Or something like that.

Just me in the car, and a billboard, and tears, sheesh.

What we look like at 8 months

I know you have been dying to see how massive I have become. Well wait no longer. We made my dad take some pictures of us. They are ultimately cheesey, and Aaron may beat me when he finds out I have put them on here.

From Baby Due
Cheesy goodness. Payment for photos was doing what he wanted first.
From Baby Due
More cheese.
From Baby Due
This pose was Eden’s idea.
From Baby Due
“Bun in the Oven” and me almost getting a wet willy. Also we are on the third floor of my Dad’s house. They made a giant pregnant lady climb up a ladder to eat dinner. Rude!!!
From Baby Due
Aaron trying to disguise his saddness at his wife’s belly being 200x bigger than his.

Finally you wanted to know what my baby looks like. Well this is what he looked like at the midwife today, all spread out, he likes to use all the space. He is allowed to come out in 4 days when I hit 37 weeks. Crazy!

Baby Seed

Today I went to visit Alex who I used to nanny for. He’s 4 now, when his mom went inside to get the baby who woke up, we had this conversation:

A: You have a baby in your tummy.
K: Yes, a big baby!
A: How did it get in there?
K: Uh, well it grew, it used to be real small but got bigger.
A: Well how did it get in there at first?
K: Uh, you should ask your mom when she gets back.
A: Did you eat a baby seed?
K: Uh, no?
A: Well my mom said that is how you get a baby.
K: Oh, yeah, I must have eaten a baby seed!
