Let’s Make A Deal

Two Saturdays ago Aaron who had a week’s worth of beard growth and says to me:

“Can I wear a handlebar moustache to church tomorrow?”

(Thinking)

“Ok, but only if you wear it to your new job on Monday”

Sunday morning Aaron comes up from the shower with a moustache. Sort of. Some of his hair is pretty light on his face, so it is kind of weak looking. We laugh, but he decides to go with it anyway. No one really says anything (except my family) but it’s quite funny.

Monday comes and he keeps his part of the deal. First day of work, sweet scary moustache. And do you know what you do on the first day of work? That’s right, get your photo ID:

A couple days later he mentioned it to the other guys at work, telling them it was an inside joke, and they all seemed to be kinda relieved. Also he just told me that they ordered a coney island pizza at work, complete with hotdogs, chili, and mustard. Bleck.

I do know what a handlebar moustache is, and if he decided to keep it he’d need a motorcycle, tattoo, and a leather jacket

    Either way, we’d love him!

It was actually a bit more of a handlebar, but I nicked it Monday morning. Still, it’s better than it looks, but thanks to a gap and some blond around the sides, it looks pretty wimpy as handlebar mustaches go.
