We will have to spend that kind of money again if/when we apply for a resident visa. But those are much longer term, or permanent depending on which you apply for.

How awful. That kind of stuff is a pain no matter where you are now that I remember what it was like in Germany. I blocked that memory until I read this post. That thing about AA worked out well for you, though! You know, the one thing that did. Will you have to spend that kind of money every time you apply for a visa???

I can only imagine. We have to go through hurdles whenever we need our medicaid stuff reviewed, but at least they accept all our documents. And I never had to deal with getting visas and stuff approved, but mostly because the lady I lived with in Austria “took care of it” for us. Which probably meant she ignored the whole issue.
